Gisele Bundchen escapes speeding fine

Gisele Bundchen escaped with a warning after police stopped her car for speeding at the weekend (17-18Sep11).

The Brazilian beauty was driving though Massachusetts, close to Cape Cod, when her Cadillac SUV was pulled over by traffic cops. Bundchen was given a warning for allegedly driving 15 miles per hour (24 kilometres per hour) over the speed limit and allowed to leave without a fine.

State Police spokesman David Procopio tells the Boston Herald, "He (the traffic cop) did give her a warning and let her go on her way. He reminded her that the speed limit on the Cape is 55, not 65 as it is in other parts of the state."

Procopio also insists Bundchen did not receive any special treatment because of her celebrity status, adding, "That trooper stopped 25 cars that day, five were given warnings including Gisele. The other 20, who were doing more egregious things, were given tickets. She got no special treatment."
