George Clooney raises satellite millions by filming TV ads

George Clooney makes foreign TV ads just to keep his satellite monitoring activity on the border of Sudan up in the skies.

The actor's Satellite Sentinel Project, which searches out and captures atrocities and illegal activity in the former warzone from hundreds of miles above the earth, costs Clooney and activist pal John Prendergast, the co-founder of the Enough Project, $3 million a year to run, and the Oscar winner admits his salaries from coffee ads and the like help to pay for it.

He explains, "I'll do a coffee commercial overseas or I'll do some stuff and that'll pay for it.

"It's expensive to do, but we've been able to collect a lot of photos that the International Criminal Court is using, so it's been extraordinarily successful too, so we're gonna keep doing it."

Clooney will be raising more money for his satellite project by offering up himself up as a date to the Oscars for one lucky fan.
