Gaga and Bieber lead Bambi Awards

Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber were the big winners at the 2011 Bambi Awards in Germany on Thursday night (10Nov11).

The Poker Face hitmaker was named Best International Pop Artist and she picked up her award from fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld before performing a medley of her hits.

Bieber also triumphed during the ceremony at the Rhein-Main-Hallen venue in Wiesbaden, collecting the Entertainment Bambi Award from Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow.

He then took to the stage to perform his new song Under the Mistletoe.

The Baby hitmaker took to Twitter.com after the event, writing, "Had an amazing night at the Bambi Awards here in Germany tonight. Got to meet some great fans too. Thank u (sic) for the honour."

Other winners on the night included TV icon Thomas Gottschalk, who picked up TV Event of the Year for his show Wetten dass ..?

The Bambi Awards are handed out annually to stars who have "affected and inspired the German public".
