G.R.L. hint at split

Written by . Published: June 01 2015

Members of girl group G.r.l. have left fans wondering if they are calling it quits after hinting of a split on social media.

Over the weekend (ends30May15), two of the band's singers, Emmalyn Estrada and Paula van Oppen, mysteriously removed the 'GRL' title from their Twitter handles, as Estrada changed her user name from @GRLEmmaLyn to @EmmalynEstrada, while van Oppen switched it from @GRLPaula to @EyesThatLightUp.

In addition, their bandmate Lauren Bennett posted a cryptic message on the microblogging site on Saturday (30May15), writing, "Thank u all for ridin with GRL thru the tough times... I know it's all a bit confusing but I love you all, and care (sic) never forget."

The official account has not been updated since the beginning of May (15).

The rumor comes nearly nine months after the fifth member of the group, Simone Battle, committed suicide at the age of 25.

The four remaining members, including Natasha Slayton, decided to carry on as a group, and released tribute song Lighthouse to Battle earlier this year (15), while also teaming with a mental health charity to help others in need.
