Furious 7 races to $1 billion

Furious 7 has smashed another major movie record by becoming the first film to hit the $1 billion mark at the global box office in less than 19 days.

The blockbuster action movie has hit the milestone in just 17 days - two days faster than The Avengers, Avatar and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.

The film, featuring Vin Diesel and the late Paul Walker, has grabbed an estimated $735 million internationally and $273 million in North America.
