Frozen soundtrack named 2014's biggest-selling album
The soundtrack to Disney's animated hit Frozen has been named the world's biggest-selling album of 2014.
The disc, featuring songs by Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell, topped the global rundown with 10 million physical and digital sales, according to a report by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI).
The soundtrack, released in 2013, sold four million copies more
than the second place artist Taylor Swift, whose album 1989
achieved global sales of six million despite only being released in
October (14).
The top five was rounded out by Ed Sheeran's X, Coldplay's Ghost
Stories and In the Lonely Hour by Sam Smith.
In the singles chart, Pharrell Williams' Happy came top with almost
14 million sales, followed by Katy Perry's Dark Horse with 13.2
million. Other songs in the global top five include All of Me by
John Legend, Meghan Trainor's All About That Bass and Frozen hit
single Let It Go.
