Frozen is world's fifth highest-grossing film
Oscar-winning film Frozen has officially become the fifth highest-grossing movie of all time at the worldwide box office.
The animated hit raked in $6.7 million at the Japanese box office over the weekend (ends25May14), taking its overall tally to $1.219 billion mark and edging out Robert Downey, Jr.'s Iron Man 3 for a top five spot.
Frozen still trails behind director James Cameron's blockbusters
Avatar and Titanic at first and second respectively, as well as
Marvel's The Avengers at three and the final installment of the hit
wizarding franchise, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2,
in fourth place.
Disney's latest princess film has been number one in Japan for the
past 11 weekends, becoming the third-highest grossing Western
film.
Frozen has already been named the highest-grossing animated film of
all time, surpassing Toy Story 3's $1.06 billion haul to take the
title.
