Fashion designer denies editing Meghan Trainor photos
A representative for fashion designer Ted Baker has denied altering images of Meghan Trainor after critics suggested the pop singer looked slimmer in pictures posted on a company press release.
The All About That Bass hitmaker walked the red carpet at a radio station concert in Los Angeles on Saturday (09May15) wearing a black blazer and floral pencil skirt by Ted Baker, and on Monday (11May15), the company's publicity team sent out a press release email to clients along with a picture of Trainor at the event.
Eagle-eyed editors of various style websites noticed the star
looked noticeably slimmer in the snaps, and a spokesperson for Ted
Baker has now cleared up the confusion by insisting they did not
use digital trickery to shrink Trainor, who recently called for a
crackdown on airbrushed photographs.
The statement reads: "Our L.A. based agency did not Photoshop or
intentionally alter images in anyway (sic). We are absolutely
mortified by this story as we hold our relationship with Trainor in
high regard and we are thrilled that she is a loyal fan of Ted
Baker... The photos were cropped and reduced in size in order to
fit into the email... Ted Baker appreciates and respects women of
all sizes and we think Meghan Trainor - a woman of remarkable
talent - looks fantastic in Ted."
