Fan rushes stage at Miranda Lambert surprise gig
Country star Miranda Lambert had a scary encounter with a crazed fan who tried to rush the stage during her surprise gig in Nashville, Tennessee on Tuesday night (13Jan15).
The Mama's Broken Heart hitmaker announced the concert on Instagram.com just hours before taking the stage at the iconic Exit/In nightclub, where a few hundred lucky fans were treated to a two-hour set.
However, halfway through the impromptu concert, an overeager male
fan jumped onto the stage and had to be tackled to the floor by
security.
Lambert took the incident in her stride, telling the audience,
"Someone just got tackled. It's not a club show if someone doesn't
get tackled, have a cat fight or get thrown out!"
The rest of the last-minute gig went off without a hitch, with
Lambert singing her biggest hits including Automatic and White
Liar, and she also performed a number of cover songs, such as ZZ
Top's Tush and her version of Wilson Pickett's soul classic In the
Midnight Hour.
Lambert gave the crowd another surprise by inviting fellow country
stars RaeLynn and Gwen Sebastian to the stage for a rendition of
the Dixie Chicks' Cowboy, Take Me Away, while Lambert and Sebastian
closed the show with Little Big Town's Girl Crush.
The gig also served as one of the final rehearsals for the country
superstar's Certified Platinum tour, which will kick of in
Evansville, Indiana on Thursday (15Jan15).
