Eva Longoria honours David Beckham for philanthropy

Eva Longoria honoured David Beckham for his philanthropic efforts at an event in Paris, France on Monday (13May13).

The Desperate Housewives star hosted the 2013 Global Gift Gala Paris ceremony at the George V Hotel and revealed the soccer ace was the recipient of the organisation's Philanthropist Award in recognition of his charitable acts.

The actress states, "The Global Gift Gala Philanthropist Award recognises prominent figures who dedicate their time and energy to helping those in need. David has worked extensively with a number of charities and we are delighted to be able to honour his humanitarian work at this special event."

Beckham, who has long supported charities including United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and Malaria No More UK, recently hit the headlines by announcing his decision to donate his entire salary from French soccer team Paris Saint-Germain to worthy causes.
