Emile Hirsh: 'Miles Teller will play Dan Akroyd in Belushi biopic'

Actor Miles Teller has been tapped to portray Dan Aykroyd opposite Emile Hirsch's John Belushi in a planned biopic about the tragic comedian.

Hirsh was cast in the role in October (13), and now it appears film producers have found their Aykroyd in Teller.

The Into the Wild star broke the news to guests at a party at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah on Saturday (18Jan14), telling the crowd, "A shout-out to Miles Teller! We're going to be working together soon. He's playing Dan Aykroyd in the Belushi movie.

However, the 26 year old, who was promoting his new movie Whiplash at the festival and was in attendance at the bash, has yet to officially sign on, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Belushi's widow Judy and his Blues Brothers and Saturday Night Live sidekick Akroyd will serve as producers on the project, which will be directed by Steve Conrad.

The Animal House star died in 1982, aged 33.
