Ed Sheeran's clothes raise $12,000 at auction
British pop star Ed Sheeran has raised $12,000 for his favourite charity by donating old clothes to be auctioned.
The Lego House hitmaker is an ambassador for East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH) and gave 21 items of clothing to be sold on eBay.com.
The highest grossing product was a camouflage hoodie, which raised
$1,600. Other items sold included a Star Wars t-shirt, which
fetched $400, and a pair of trainers, which sold for $440.
When the auction opened late last month (Nov14), Sheeran announced
it on Twitter.com, writing, "I donated all my favourite clothes to
@EACH_hospices including all my hoodies."
EACH spokesman Simon Hempsall said, "We're extremely grateful to Ed
for this unique fundraising opportunity and have been blown away by
the response to the auction."
