Ed Sheeran fuming about tour venue scams

Ed Sheeran has been left aghast after learning that officials at some venues on his North American tour have been scamming fans out of money in return for early access to their seats.

The A-Team hitmaker has been playing shows across the U.S. and Canada in recent weeks, but he had no idea some gig-goers had been charged extra just to enter the concert hall before the shows' scheduled opening times.

Sheeran took to his Twitter.com blog on Thursday (04Oct12) to vent his anger at the shady practise and apologize to fans, revealing all funds obtained from the unauthorised collections are now set to be donated to good causes.

The singer/songwriter writes, "just been told that some venues on this tour have been going round the que (queue) and offering queing (sic) fans to pay for early access into the venue this is not how me and my team work, and has nothing to do with us.

"however, we got in touch with all the venues to tell them to stop and they are donating all the money they took to homeless charities in the area. abit (sic) angry that people take advantage of my fans like that but its (sic) all sorted now, and a postive has come from it. sorry to any fan affected".

Sheeran will wrap up his North American trek on Saturday (06Oct12) with a show in Seattle, Washington.
