Ed Sheeran and D'Angelo to lead Bill Withers tribute concert
Ed Sheeran and D'angelo have been tapped to lead a music tribute to soul legend Bill Withers at New York City's famed Carnegie Hall.
The British singer and the R&B star will be among the artists performing at the event, aptly titled Lean on Him, during which musicians will recreate Withers' classic 1973 album, Live at Carnegie Hall, in its entirety.
Joining Sheeran and D'Angelo are Sheryl Crow, Aloe Blacc, Michael
McDonald, Amos Lee and Gregory Porter, among others.
Withers, who was recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of
Fame as part of the Class of 2015, is expected to make a rare
public appearance at the 1 October (15) event, and proceeds from
the concert will benefit the Stuttering Association for the Young -
an organization the singer has been involved with for years.
