Hollywood hardman Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson broke a Guinness World Record for 'selfies' at the world premiere of San Andreas in London on Thursday night (21May15).

The wrestler-turned-actor attempted to beat the world record for the greatest number of 'selfies' taken within three minutes.

Ticket holders to the premiere lined up on the red carpet and jumped into a picture taken by Johnson on a cell phone. Johnson had to take more than the record 75 pictures and each snap had to be in focus, and feature the head and shoulders of his companion.

Once the three minutes were up, an official from Guinness World Records analysed the pictures and returned at the end of the premiere to announce that Johnson had set a new best by taking 105 eligible 'selfies' and present him with a certificate.

Johnson says, "I gotta say thank you so much, I could not have done it without everyone who was helping me. I appreciate it but I came to London to break a record, and London we broke a record."

To celebrate, he took a video 'selfie' with the crowd at the premiere.
