Drake angers clubbers with bathroom takeover

Written by . Published: March 20 2014

Rapper Drake left Scottish revellers furious on Saturday (15Mar14) by demanding a venue's ladies bathroom be cordoned off for his entourage.

The Started From The Bottom hitmaker headed to Glasgow hotspot Cirque at the weekend (15-16Mar14), and his representatives asked for the nearest toilet to their private room to be cleared and cordoned off for the group's personal use.

Club staff reportedly evicted a number of female revellers from the room and directed them to nearby mens toilets.

One outraged clubber told Scotland's Deadline News, "I don't care who Drake is, or his toilet requirements, but it's a basic right to be able to use the women's toilets. We were told that we could use the men's, but why would I want to do that? That's disgusting. They were rushing us out, I even had to ask the woman for time to wash my hands."

Another angry evictee wrote in a post on Twitter.com, "Think it's OK to shut down the female toilets and let us use the male toilets? Disgusting!"

Cirque Nightclub area manager Mark Loney says, "Drake's management requested that he be given access to the closest bathrooms and that happened to be the female one. I think it's because of the high security - he was surrounded by them and they followed him around the club... It was a strange night."
