Domhnall Gleeson to hunt down Peter Rabbit as Mr. McGregor
Domhnall Gleeson is reuniting with his Star Wars: The Force Awakens co-star Daisy Ridley for the new Peter Rabbit movie.
Into the Woods actor and TV host James Corden will voice the titular character in the film, based on children's author and illustrator Beatrix Potter's beloved tale about a mischievous bunny.
Now Gleeson, who portrayed General Hux in last year's (15) Star
Wars sequel, has taken on another villainous role as Mr. McGregor,
the disgruntled farmer who tries to catch and cook Peter and his
furry family members who constantly nibble away at his vegetable
patch.
The cast also includes Rose Byrne in the female lead as Bea and The
Night Manager actress Elizabeth Debicki, reports Deadline.com.
Byrne's Annie remake director Will Gluck is on board to take charge
of the project. He will team up with animators at Australia's
Animal Logic, the production studio behind The LEGO Movie, to bring
the characters to life onscreen.
Filming is set to begin in January (17) in Sydney, Australia and
the movie is scheduled to hit the big screen in April, 2018.
Meanwhile, Peter Rabbit isn't the only children's
literature-related film Gleeson is working on - he is currently
filming a biopic of Winnie-the-Pooh author A. A. Milne, in which he
portrays the late English writer.
