DMX lands TV sitcom role
Embattled rapper Dmx has landed a small role in sitcom Fresh Off The Boat.
The hip-hop star, real name Earl Simmons, features in a new trailer for next week's (01Dec15) episode of the show, in which his character shares love advice with chef Eddie Huang's younger self.
The comedy, about a Taiwanese family which relocates from
Washington, D.C. to Orlando, Florida to open a restaurant, is based
Huang's book Fresh Off the Boat: A Memoir.
The appearance isn't DMX's first screen role - he made his acting
debut in the 1998 crime drama Belly, and he went on to star in
action films Romeo Must Die, Exit Wounds and Cradle 2 the Grave,
alongside martial arts expert Jet Li.
DMX, a father of 12, has hit headlines for all the wrong reasons of
late - his most recent arrest occurred last month (Oct15), when he
was taken into custody for failing to pay child support to the
mother of his four children.
