Dionne Warwick still adamant Lady Gaga will play Cilla Black

Dionne Warwick is not about to let a denial from Lady Gaga's publicist derail her biopic, insisting the pop superstar will portray Cilla Black in the film.

The Walk on By singer made the casting announcement at a press conference in Cannes, France on Friday (13May16), but the Poker Face singer's representative was quick to shoot down the story, insisting Gaga would not be part of the movie.

Now, Dionne claims the confusion was rooted in the fact that Gaga's music representatives were the ones who sealed the deal and not the pop star's film reps.

At a post-press conference party, the soul legend told The Hollywood Reporter the pop star will portray Cilla in the film, despite news to the contrary.

"It is just a question of the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing," said Warwick. "I'm waiting now for an email from either her and/or her management letting me know that all the retractions that have been tracted will be retracted (sic)."
