Demi Lovato demonstrates self-defense moves

Demi Lovato has shown off her impressive self-defense moves, insisting she will never become a victim.

The Confident hitmaker posted a video of her intense workout on Instagram.com on Friday (06May16), which featured her throwing punches and elbowing a padded dummy in the groin.

The 23-year-old captioned the clip, "I hate the word victim. I never have been and I never will be."

In a second video, which she simply called "Friday", she showed off her squats while dressed in a black tank top, black leggings and white trainers.

Her ferocious workout on social media comes after she took to Twitter.com to defend herself following criticism for seemingly taking a swipe at Nicki Minaj after they both attended the Met Gala in New York City with designer Jeremy Scott on 2 May (16).

The Anaconda hitmaker posted a photo of the trio on Instagram.com, but failed to mention Demi in the caption. The former Disney star then took to Snapchat.com to call out Nicki, and captioned a selfie, "When you aren't mentioned in a post but didn't do s**t to the person."

After uproar from Nicki's fans, Demi tweeted on Thursday (05May16), "Sometimes there's more s**t going on than you see. Maybe you DON'T know every aspect of my life so maybe you shouldn't assume you know. Maybe I'm tired of sharing my story with the world."
