Demi Lovato coughs up blood as she battles respiratory infection
Singer Demi Lovato received treatment from a medic after coughing up blood when she fell ill on tour.
The singer became poorly before the start of her Neon Lights trek in February (14) and she warned her fans she was struggling with health issues ahead of her concert in New York on Tuesday (11Mar14) but was determined not to cancel the show.
In a series of posts on her Twitter.com account, she writes, "The
last thing I would EVER want to do is cancel a show, with that
being said I'm super sick tonight so it may not be my best show BUT
I'm... SO excited to perform for you guys but I may need you to
sing most of the show for me!!! Hahaha."
However, Lovato then detailed her horrifying health concerns,
posting a screen shot of a text conversation with a friend in which
she revealed she had been coughing up blood.
Lovato had told her pal, "Seriously I woke up coughing up s**t with
blood in it... And now I feel so much better... Crazy... Honestly I
think my fans make me so happy that it made me feel better."
The comments provoked concern among her supporters but the pop star
has now revealed she sought medical attention and was diagnosed
with a respiratory infection.
She writes, "For all of you that are worried, I saw a doctor and
it's just a respiratory infection."
