Delta Goodrem brushes off Marlon Wayans' dancing criticism
Australian singer Delta Goodrem has brushed off critical comments from comedian Marlon Wayans after he poked fun at her lack of rhythm while attending a Beyonce and Jay Z concert in Los Angeles over the weekend (02-03Aug14).
The White Chicks funnyman found himself seated next to Goodrem at the hip-hop supercouple's On The Run tour stop at the Rose Bowl venue on Sunday (03Aug14) and during the night, Wayans shared a snap of himself pulling a face as the Aussie beauty danced in the background.
In the accompanying caption, he wrote, "Man I got the most
UNRHYTHMIC (sic) WHITE WOMAN dancing next to me at the jay and bay
(sic) concert...This b**ch dancing to AC/DC."
Wayans, who was apparently oblivious to Goodrem's fame as a pop
star, was subsequently attacked online by the singer's fans for his
harsh comments, but he remained defiant and insisted, "I ain't
(sic) apologizing for a joke".
He added, "I love that all these people calling me racist cuz I
stated a fact. She can't dance. Apparently neither can u. Now f**k
outta here (sic)..."
His rant was brought to Goodrem's attention, but she dismissed the
controversy on Monday (04Aug14) by making light of the situation
herself, sharing a video clip of Julia Louis-Dreyfus' Seinfeld
comedy character Elaine dancing awkwardly.
Alongside the Twitter footage, she wrote, "Had a blast last
night".
Wayans saw Goodrem's response and responded to his detractors,
tweeting, "All those trippin (going mad) and Delta is fine."
