Dawn Richard recruits former Danity Kane member for new single

Former Danity Kane star Dawn Richard has recruited bandmate Aundrea Fimbres for her new solo single, Phoenix.
Four of the five members of the all-girl band formed by Sean 'Diddy' Combs in 2005 reunited in 2013, but on the opening night of a comeback tour last May (14), Fimbres quit the group after revealing she was pregnant and engaged to wed.
Just a few months later, the trio of Richard, Aubrey O'Day and
Shannon Bex faced a falling out yet again, when Richard allegedly
lashed out at O'Day during a recording session.
With Danity Kane's ill-fated reunion behind them, Richard teamed up
with close pal Fimbres in a redemption-themed single called
Phoenix, which critics believe is a directed towards O'Day and
Bex.
The electro ballad includes lyrics such as, "You wanted me gone
like the stars hidden behind the glowing sun... The only way to fly
is free... I'll rise like a phoenix".
Richard's third solo album, BlackHeart, is due out on Thursday
(15Jan15).
