David Harewood lands hometown Walk of Fame star
Homeland actor David Harewood has landed a star on his hometown's equivalent of the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The actor who hails from Birmingham, England has become a big star after landing the role of Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) boss David Estes in the popular TV show opposite Claire Danes.
His success has now been acknowledged in his hometown and he
returned to the city on Thursday (25Jul13) to see his star unveiled
on the Birmingham Broad Street Walk of Fame.
Harewood was presented with a replica star by the Mayor of
Birmingham, Mike Leddy, and revealed he was delighted with the
honor, saying, "I'm completely chuffed (delighted) - it's a very
special day. I'm absolutely bowled over by the attention... I can't
get my head around it. It's a little bit overwhelming...
"It's good to be home in the place where I spent my formative
years. I've got some very good friends here, and it will always be
home. The way my job works I don't really get a lot of downtime,
but my Mom, Dad and other family are still here."
