David Beckham wants to buy soccer club
David Beckham wants to buy a major soccer team when he retires from playing the sport.
The England superstar, currently playing for Los Angeles Galaxy, has long been linked with offers to coach a professional side in his native U.K. when he hangs up his boots.
But he's now spoken out to reveal he has ruled out a move into team
management and plans to buy and run a Major League Soccer (MLS)
club instead.
Beckham, who last month (Jan12) signed a new two-year deal to
continue playing for Los Angeles Galaxy, tells Britain's Hello!
magazine, "I will stay in football, but not in management - I like
coaching kids but that's as far as it goes.
"I've got the possibility of ownership of a football club in the
MLS, which I'm interested in, too. But I'm still playing football,
so I'll worry about that once I've stopped."
