David Beckham turns jungle explorer
Sports icon David Beckham spent two weeks trekking through the Amazon rainforest for a new documentary.
The former soccer star spent 14 days cooking, camping and fishing earlier this month (Mar14) on a secret expedition through the jungles of Brazil and the trip was caught on camera for a 90-minute BBC film.
Beckham, who was joined on the trip by two friends and director
Anthony Mandler, aimed to explore the natural beauty of the country
ahead of the soccer World Cup tournament there this summer
(14).
BBC spokeswoman Charlotte Moore says in a statement, "In this
special documentary for BBC1, David Beckham embarks on a top secret
expedition to the Amazon that will see him encounter the other side
of Brazil and journey through the tropical rainforest, a TV first
for the global icon."
The special will air in the U.K. in June (14) to coincide with the
tournament.
