David Beckham surprises unsuspecting family with $100,000

Former soccer star David Beckham thrilled a hard-working family by awarding them with a cheque for $100,000 as part of Ryan Seacrest's new TV show.

Knock Knock Live, a new reality programme on the Fox network, offers families the chance to win huge prizes and meet famous stars.

In Tuesday night's (21Jul15) premiere episode, Beckham visited the Gonzales family in their California home after hearing the story of the family patriarch, who was a professional soccer star in Mexico but quit his sporting career to support his family.

Beckham says, "Giving the cheque for $100,000, you can see it means so much to them. You can see it has literally changed their lives. I'm very fortunate in my life, and to be able to do this for this family that works so hard... it is an amazing feeling."
