Claire Holt's husband files for divorce

Actress Claire Holt's husband filed for divorce a day before their one-year wedding anniversary last month (Apr17).

Matthew Kaplan filed court documents to end his marriage to The Originals actress on 27 April, almost a year after they tied the knot on 28 April 2016.

According to the documents, obtained by People.com, Kaplan cited irreconcilable differences for the reason behind the split and claimed they separated on 24 April.

The Australian actress, who also starred in The Vampire Diaries, filed a response at the Superior Court of Los Angeles via her attorney Joel D. Schwartz on Tuesday (02May17) and she also cited irreconcilable differences, but declared they separated on 27 April.

Holt took Kaplan's surname when they got married and she has now asked for her maiden name to be restored.

Her representative also confirmed the divorce to JustJared.com.

The 28-year-old got engaged to Kaplan in July 2015 and they married in a private ceremony the following April.
