Ciara criticised for dress choice at sports performance
R&B star Ciara has been criticised for wearing a revealing gown to sing at the college football championships on Monday night (11Jan16).
The Goodies singer performed a rendition of the national anthem before the College Football Playoff championship game at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona while wearing a plunging sparkly dress which exposed her cleavage.
Many viewers took to Twitter.com to label her outfit inappropriate
in the family friendly setting, including ESPN reporter Bonnie
Bernstein who tweeted, "Dear Ciara. You're stunning. But this is a
National Championship Game. Kids are watching. Cover up."
Her footballer boyfriend Russell Wilson came to her defence by
praising her appearance, writing, "I see you baby!! Sounded amazing
& looked flawless in every way! @Ciara," and she replied,
"Awe...Thank You Baby (sic)!"
The singer has not directly responded to the criticism, but shared
pictures from her performance and added, "Truly Grateful For This
Moment, and To Be A Part Of A Special Night."
