Ciara and Russell Wilson are in no rush to have children
Ciara and her new husband Russell Wilson are looking forward to having children together but admit they aren't in any hurry to add to their family.
The R&B singer married the footballer at Peckforton Castle in Cheshire, England on Wednesday (06Jul16) surrounded by more than 100 friends, family and stars including bridesmaids Kelly Rowland and media personality La La Anthony.
Ciara is already mother to two-year-old son Future Zahir, from her
relationship with former fiance Future, and she definitely wants
children with Russell too, but they aren't feeling a rush to expand
their family right away.
"Down the road, I would obviously (want kids)," Russell tells E!
News. "She does too and hopefully, god willing, as long as they're
healthy, that's what we pray for and whether it's a boy or girl,
who knows but we've got some time for that... She's making her
music right now and I'm playing my sports and hosting shows so
we're pretty busy."
He also told People.com they want "a bunch" of kids but he is
currently enjoying being stepdad to baby Future, who was recently
caught on the couple's Facebook Live video calling Russell "papa",
as an assistant corrects him by saying, "Papa Russ?"
"The key is loving the child as your own... That's the biggest
thing," Russell adds. "Ciara's such a great mom. She reads to him
every night. I read to him too, and we just share so many special
moments together. That's what family is all about. Ultimately, it's
about giving back and loving as much as you can to your fullest.
That's what you're able to do together."
Russell also described the best moment of their wedding ceremony
was seeing Ciara walking down the aisle towards him in her custom
Roberto Cavalli dress, which gave him chills as it made him realize
they were going to spend the rest of their lives together.
The day after they got hitched, the couple posted a video joking
about breaking their abstinence pact on their wedding night.
Russell, a devout Christian, is a firm believer in no sex before
marriage.
