Christian Slater blames difficult movie industry for Tony Scott's death

Written by . Published: February 03 2013

Christian Slater was devastated to hear of director Tony Scott's suicide and blames the stress of working in the movie industry for pushing him too far.

The actor worked with Scott on 1993 crime thriller True Romance, and admits he was shocked to find out the moviemaker had taken his own life by jumping from a bridge in California last August (12).

However, Slater insists life in Hollywood can be very stressful and suggests maybe it got too much for Scott.

He tells British newspaper The Guardian, "Tony Scott was one of the best directors I have ever worked with and I was devastated when I heard about his death. He was a great guy with great energy. But this is a difficult business and people's lives are sometimes difficult."
