Chris Brown to quit music
Chris Brown has told fans his next album will "probably" be his last as the troubled singer fears he is now only famous for his 2009 beating of Rihanna.
The Kiss Kiss star, who was convicted of assaulting the pop singer after a pre-Grammy Awards party, has released five records over the course of his career, and his sixth, X, is due to hit shelves later this month (Aug13).
However, he has now warned fans he is planning to give up making
music as he focuses on his legal problems, writing in a post on
Twitter.com, "Don't worry mainstream America. After this X album,
it'll probably be my last album... Being famous is amazing when
it's for ur (your) music and talent. I'm tired of being famous for
a mistake I made when I was 18 (sic)."
The news comes amid a surge of bad publicity for Brown, who
reported to a jail in California on Monday (05Aug13) to be booked
on a hit-and-run charge relating to a car accident in May (13). His
probation stemming from his assault on then-girlfriend Rihanna was
recently revoked, and he faces up to four years behind bars if
found guilty of the hit-and-run.
His next court date has been scheduled for 15 August (13).
