Chris Brown sued over alleged basketball court spat

Chris Brown's Valentine's Day weekend has been rocked by another legal woe - the R&B star is at the center of a new assault accusation.

Malcolm Ausbon has filed a lawsuit against the troubled singer, who is currently in rehab tackling anger issues, claiming the star and members of his entourage put him in hospital when a basketball court spat turned ugly last summer (13).

The plaintiff claims Brown bragged that he was a member of the Bloods gang and then charged him as he tried to back away from trouble after the court altercation.

Ausbon claims Brown and three others began to "strike, punch, kick, pull and stomp" on his "head and body".

In court papers obtained by TMZ.com, Ausbon alleges he ended up in the emergency room with injuries to his face, head, neck, back, legs and ribs, and he claims he now suffers from embarrassment, fear, anxiety and post traumatic stress disorder.

Ausbon is suing Brown and 24-Hour Fitness, where the fight took place, for unspecified damages.

According to TMZ.com, a source close to Brown has acknowledged an "incident" on the court but insists there were no punches thrown.

The suit is the latest in a long line of legal woes for Brown - he narrowly avoided jail time earlier this month (Feb14) when prosecutors argued that his violent behavior during an alleged fight outside a hotel in Washington, D.C. last year (13) proved the singer was an "increasing danger to society".

Brown is still on probation for his 2009 assault conviction following an attack on then-girlfriend Rihanna.
