Chris Brown sued by Frank Ocean's cousin over parking space brawl
Embattled singer Chris Brown has been hit with a lawsuit by Frank Ocean's cousin, accusing the R&B star's bodyguard of viciously beating him during an altercation between the two singers earlier this year (13).
The two stars and their entourages reportedly clashed over a parking space outside the Westlake Studio in West Hollywood, and police were called to the scene. Ocean filed a battery report against Brown but later decided against pressing charges.
However, his relative Sha' Keir Duarte has now decided to sue the
Kiss Kiss hitmaker for assault, battery, intentional infliction of
emotional distress and conspiracy to commit battery, claiming Brown
encouraged his minder to attack him.
He filed legal papers at Los Angeles Superior Court, alleging that
Brown's bodyguard, named only as Hood, punched him in the face and
kicked him around 12 times at the singer's encouragement. He also
claims that Brown used the N-word against him during the brawl.
This is the latest incident in a string of legal woes for the
24-year-old star, who is facing up to four years behind bars after
he was booked on a hit-and-run charge relating to a car accident in
May (13). His probation stemming from his 2009 assault on
then-girlfriend Rihanna was revoked, and he could be jailed if
found guilty of the hit-and-run.
He is due back in court on 15 August (13).
