Chris Brown rejects plea deal in assault case
Chris Brown has rejected a plea agreement in his assault case.
The Kiss Kiss hitmaker was charged with misdemeanour assault in October (13), following a fight outside a Washington, D.C. hotel.
He pleaded not guilty to the allegation and in a court hearing on
Wednesday (08Jan14), prosecutors revealed they had offered to drop
the charges to simple assault if Brown agreed to change his plea,
but he refused.
According to TMZ.com, the 24 year old's lawyer, Mark Geragos, has
requested an opportunity to see a surveillance video from the night
of the incident before he accepts any deal from the
prosecutors.
Brown is currently serving a 90-day sentence in a California rehab
center for an incident at a separate treatment facility, which he
entered to seek help for anger issues. The singer was kicked out
for allegedly throwing a rock through his mother's car window
following a fight.
He is due back in court for a progress report in February (14).
