Chris Brown clears up inaccurate brawl reports
Chris Brown has distanced himself from reports suggesting members of his entourage became embroiled in a brawl at a New York club, insisting he and his friends were not involved.
The R&B star was hosting an event at the VIP Room in the early hours of Thursday (11Sep14) when a fight broke out at the venue.
According to the New York Post, bottles were thrown as some people
in his crew clashed with another group sitting nearby and one
reveler caught up in the fracas suffered an eye injury.
Police were called to the scene, but no arrests were made.
Brown has since taken to his Twitter.com blog to clear up rumors
suggesting he was involved, claiming the fight had nothing to do
with his entourage.
He writes, "There was no brawl involving me or anyone from my camp
last night at VIP room. The devil is in full effect at all times.
God is the way."
Meanwhile, representatives for VIP Room have verified Brown's
account of the clash in a statement issued to WENN, which reads:
"An incident unrelated to Chris Brown occurred between two patrons,
approximately 50 feet away from Brown and his group...
"Chris Brown was completely oblivious to the incident and had
nothing to do with what transpired nor was he or any of his group
affected in anyway (sic). VIP ROOM is cooperating with the police
and their investigation."
The Kiss Kiss hitmaker is no stranger to club controversy - he
faced-off with rapper Drake in a similar brawl at another Big Apple
nightclub in 2012.
