Chloe Grace Moretz: 'Pirates torpedoed Kick-Ass franchise'

Carrie star Chloe Grace Moretz has blamed pirates for ending the Kick-Ass film franchise, insisting there would have been a third movie if fans had bought tickets to see last year's (13) sequel instead of downloading it illegally.

The teenage actress was asked during a guest appearance on chat show Watch What Happens Live on Monday (22Sep14) if there would be a third film in the comic book series, and she revealed the sad truth behind the decision to close the book on the franchise.

She said, "It opened to, like, number four (at the box office) and it was the number one most-pirated movie, and what happens is if you pirate the movie, it makes it so we can't make another one, so don't pirate movies."
