Chief Keef writes song about rehab
Embattled rapper Chief Keef has detailed his ongoing rehab stay in his comeback single.
The 18-year-old hip-hop star was ordered to complete 90 days of treatment late last year (13) after testing positive for marijuana while on probation, and he is now serving out his sentence at the Wavelengths Recovery center in California.
The star, real name Keith Cozart, moved to the facility after
spending several weeks in another California clinic, Promises in
Malibu, and Chief Keef admits he hated his time there as he didn't
have enough privacy from the other patients, telling Billboard.com,
"It's like being locked up. And when I'm locked up, I don't want
anybody to come see me. I won't let my family come here. I haven't
seen my 2-year-old daughter... I had to stay with 30 motherf**kers
- and I don't like people. I ain't no friendly-a** n**ga. I won't
shake your hand if I don't like you. Don't speak to me."
The star has poured all his feelings about his stay into his
comeback single, which he has titled F**k Rehab, as he has been
allowed special visits to the studio while remaining a patient at
Wavelengths Recovery.
Keef, who has been learning to surf during his time in rehab,
admits he can't wait to get back to his native Chicago, Illinois,
adding, "I know it's cold, but I love Chicago. I ain't going to
miss Orange County - I feel like I'm going to die in this
motherf**ker."
He is due back in court on 28 February (14) when a judge will
assess his progress.
