Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Liam Payne held hands as they headed out on a romantic date night with Cheryl's mum in tow.

Girls Aloud singer Cheryl, 32, and her new love interest, One Direction star Liam Payne, 22, smiled for the cameras as they stepped out for the dinner date in London's West End last night (09Mar16).

The couple, who confirmed they were dating after posing together on Instagram earlier this month (Mar16), looked happy in matching black outfits as they walked to upmarket seafood restaurant Salmontini in Belgravia.

Cheryl teamed her ensemble with a chunky "LOVE" necklace and even brought her mum Joan Callaghan along to see new boyfriend Liam.

The pair were later spotted leaving together, smiling and holding hands again as they walked to a car.

Cheryl's mum was later spotted leaving the night spot, apparently having given her seal of approval to the relationship over dinner.

The pop star, who recently split from her French husband Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini, first met Liam when he auditioned on the U.K. X Factor five years ago.

The pair, who have been dating for a few months since Liam performed on the X Factor final last December (15), are now rumoured to be very much in love.

Posting on Instagram on International Women's Day (08Mar16) Liam gushed: "Happy #internationalwomensday to my favourite woman in the world. Hope I make you as happy as u make me X."

Liam's ex-girlfriend Sophia Smith, 22, recently hit out at the couple, calling their burgeoning relationship "So weird." Adding, "I knew about them a little bit ago, but who thought it would actually come out?" (08Mar16)

Cheryl's estranged husband Jean-Bernard has also expressed concern, admitting that he had hoped to "salvage" his marriage with the singer before the news she was dating Liam.

Cheryl is currently in the process of divorcing Jean-Bernard, after 19 months of marriage.
