Charli XCX: 'I don't care what others think'
Charli Xcx was advised by fellow singer Robyn not to care about what other people think.
ritish popstar Charli has catapulted to fame thanks to appearances on hit tracks including Fancy alongside Iggy Azalea and Boom Clap, along with penning tracks for Gwen Stefani and Rihanna.
While the 24-year-old is well aware she will always have her
critics in the industry, Charli revealed she received some great
advice from Swedish singer Robyn, a five-time Grammy
award-nominee.
“Robyn once told me to always be ME, not worry about what other
people think, and (forget) everyone if they don’t like it,” Charli
told NME. “To hear that from someone who I admired was so cool and
comforting. Just do what makes you feel good and hang out with
people you love and feel happy with... I feel that equals good life
vibes."
Fans were thrilled when Charli unveiled the music video to her new
track After The Afterparty on Sunday night (30Oct16), right in time
for Halloween (31Oct16). The star took to social media to share
links to the video, featuring Charli and rapper Lil Yachty enjoying
a gruesome zombie-turned-foam party, and thanked those who helped
make it, including director Diane Martel.
“before it comes out i just wanna say thank uuuuuu so much to all
the amazing people who were involved in creating not only the
video, but also the song, the artwork and the whole entire xcx
world!! (sic)” the brunette beauty wrote alongside a screenshot of
the clip on Instagram.
The track will appear on Charli’s upcoming currently-untitled third
album, which is due to drop in early 2017. Speaking earlier this
year (16) she described the record as the most “pop” project she’s
ever worked on.
