Channing Tatum lands MTV Movie Awards' Trailblazer prize

Actor Channing Tatum is set to become the first male to be honored with the Trailblazer Award at the 2014 MTV Movie Awards later this month (Apr14).


The Magic Mike star has landed a nomination for Best Hero for his role in White House Down, but he has learned he's already a winner after landing the top prize ahead of the Los Angeles ceremony on 13 April (14).


Mila Kunis will present her Jupiter Ascending co-star with the accolade.


President of MTV Stephen Friedman says, "Channing Tatum is the quintessential leading man for the MTV audience. He proves that an action hero can have both a quick wit and a large heart."


Previous recipients include Emma Stone and Emma Watson.
