Cee Lo Green on fire as he rolls into Vegas for residency
Eccentric pop star Cee Lo Green marked his arrival in Las Vegas on Tuesday (26Feb13) by belting out his biggest hits while playing a flaming piano as he was driven down the city's famous Strip.
The Forget You hitmaker turned heads as he performed tracks like Crazy alongside showgirls and tuxedo-wearing male dancers on the back of a flat-bed truck to celebrate the Wednesday night (27Feb13) launch of his new Sin City residency.
He then headed to his new home at Planet Hollywood to cement his
place in Vegas history by taking part in a special handprint
ceremony.
He told VegasDeluxe.com blogger Robin Leach, "I've done a lot of
things and had some pretty fantastic entrances. But this is the
most amazing of them all."
The elaborate entrance served as Cee Lo's official welcome to the
city ahead of his first Loberace show on Wednesday and the singer
was excited to kick off the run of gigs.
Speaking before the concert, he said, "I’m really happy with the
show... It’s all come together. I love it, and I just want Las
Vegas to love it as much as I do. It’s got everything in it that
I’d hoped would happen."
Christina Aguilera was expected to be in the audience to support
her former The Voice co-judge Cee Lo on his big night.
On Wednesday, she tweeted, "In the car, on way to airport to see my
boy @CeeLoGreen’s show in Vegas!"
