Carly Rae Jepsen throws terrible first pitch at Florida baseball game

Carly Rae Jepsen was left red-faced when she threw the ceremonial first pitch for a Florida baseball team on Sunday (14Jul13), as she barely managed to hurl the ball further than two feet (0.6 metres).

The Call Me Maybe hitmaker took to the mound at the start of the Tampa Bay Rays' home clash against the Houston Astros, but her throw was quickly labelled "possibly the worst ceremonial first pitch ever" by CBS baseball critic Dayn Perry.

The singer immediately covered her face with her hands after the embarrassing throw, but was cheered on by fans who went on to watch the home team beat the visitors 5-0 at the Tropicana Field.

Jepsen was quick to poke fun at her own pitching skills, taking to her Twitter.com page to write, "So apparently I made ESPN with my fail of a pitch. Lol (laughing out loud) - Daddy must be so proud."

American Beauty star Kevin Spacey also showed off his pitching skills on Sunday for the Baltimore Orioles in Maryland but did somewhat better than Jepsen - he threw a 'strike'.
