Calvin Harris throws pal's stag do at T in the Park
Calvin Harris recreated a pub backstage at a music festival for his friend's stag do.
While performing at T in the Park, in Perthshire, Scotland, Calvin used the event to celebrate his pal's impending nuptials.
In fact he recreated the pub where his friend Mark Irving works
complete with full bar, leather sofas and a pool table in the
festival's VIP area.
Calvin put his painful split from Taylor Swift, and her
high-profile romance with Tom Hiddleston, behind him to celebrate
love with his pals at the Scottish festival at Strathallan Castle
in Perthshire.
Calvin told The Hits Radio in an interview: “What's happening now
it's my best mate from Dumfries he's having a stag do. So I'm the
the best man and I’ve recreated the pub that he works in. It’s a
giant stag-do.”
No expense was spared on the make shift pub as Calvin admitted: "We
set a team on it," adding he forked out a small fortune to recreate
the drinking spot Mark runs in his home town of Dumfries.
It was the DJ's first trip back to his home country this year, so
he was clearly keen to make the most of it, especially for the
groom-to-be. And Calvin admitted DJ-ing in front of thousands at
the festival is definitely not as worrisome as giving the best
man's speech at his friend's wedding reception later this year.
“Of course, the speech is more nerve-racking than headlining T in
the Park," he told British newspaper The Sun. "It takes a lot more
preparation. I have no visuals to hide behind either like on stage.
I might get Dizzee Rascal to help me. I’ll invite him along and get
him to do a verse," he joked.
Calvin is no stranger to having celebrity guests pop up onstage. At
Friday night's Wireless Festival actor Will Smith showed up with
his whole family to watch Calvin's set. The actor introduced Calvin
at T in the Park two years ago, and did the honors at Calvin's
request on Friday night. While rappers Big Sean and Dizzee Rascal
made cameos during his set.
