Brody Jenner: 'My dad is fun to be around now he's Caitlyn'
Transgender reality TV star Caitlyn Jenner's son Brody insists his dad is more fun to be around now he's a woman.
Former Olympian Bruce Jenner officially became Caitlyn in May (15) after opening up about her transition during a U.S. TV special and then appearing on the cover of Vanity Fair - as a woman.
She made her first public appearance at a Pride event in New York
this past weekend (27-28Jun15), and now her son Brody has spoken
about his dad's transition, admitting it wasn't always easy for him
to accept.
Jenner tells news show Extra, "Bruce and I never had the greatest
relationship growing up, but Caitlyn has been really fun to be
around. Caitlyn is more free, Caitlyn is herself; she's finally
being able to be the person that she always was."
He adds, "I'm not gonna sit here and say that it was the easiest
thing in the world; it opened my eyes to a lot of different things
- to be open, and be understanding. Everybody's going through their
own little struggles and you got to be open and you got to just
accept."
And Brody admits he'll be cheering his dad on when Caitlyn accepts
the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPYs sports prizegiving later
this month (Jul15), adding, "It's an incredible award... I will be
there for sure to support Caitlyn."
