Broadway star Kelli O'Hara misses The King and I due to flu

Broadway veteran Kelli O'hara briefly bowed out of her starring role in The King And I due to a severe bout of influenza, just days after winning her first Tony Award.

O'Hara was handed the Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical honor at the annual theater awards last week (07Jun15), but on Friday (12Jun15), she had to leave her post as British schoolteacher Anna Leonowens because she was too ill to continue with the show.

O'Hara was forced to skip a total of four performances over the weekend (ends14Jun15), but press representatives for The King and I insist she plans on returning to the stage on Tuesday (16Jun15).

O'Hara stars alongside Inception star Ken Watanabe and Ruthie Ann Miles, who also won her first Tony at this year's (15) prizegiving for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical.
