Brittany Snow and Pete Wentz front anti-bullying campaign
Stars including Brittany Snow, Pete Wentz and Elizabeth Banks have signed on to promote a campaign urging youngsters to share their experiences with adversities online.
Fall Out Boy rocker Wentz and Pitch Perfect stars Snow and Banks are fronting the #PostItForward campaign, which has launched on popular blogging platform Tumblr.
The initiative is meant to encourage teens to share a video talking
about their own personal struggles with hardships such as bullying,
mental health issues, sexual assault and self-harm, as a way to
show fellow online users that there are others going through
similar problems and there is support available to help deal with
it.
In Snow's video, she says, "For many years when I was younger, I
let negative things that people said about me affect my life. What
I've learned is that it's really important to find the right
support network, focus on the positive things in your life and
quiet that negative voice in your head."
In Wentz's clip, he says, "Nobody is perfect. It's okay to ask for
help. Whether you're dealing with bullying, mental health or
self-image issues, know that there's no shame in talking about what
you're going through."
In addition to Banks, other stars such as Jordin Sparks, chat show
host Wendy Williams, and Vice President Joe Biden have all shared
their experiences for the #PostItForward campaign.
