Bobby Brown's relatives brawl as Bobbi Kristina remains hospitalized

Bobby Brown's cousin was hospitalized in the early hours of Friday (06Feb15) after he was allegedly hit in the head with a bottle during an altercation with the R&B star's sister.

Authorities were called to the W Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia at around 1am local time to investigate the incident after Brown's sibling, Tina, reportedly attacked 30-year-old Shayne Brown in a dispute over a valet parking ticket.

A statement issued by a representative for the Atlanta Police Department reads: "One victim Shayne Brown was struck in the head with a bottle by suspect Tina Brown. Mr. Shayne Brown chose to drive himself to the hospital. Mrs. Tina Brown left the scene before police arrived."

Shayne, who received treatment for "lacerations" to his head, has since declined to press charges against Tina.

The fight occurred after they attended a birthday dinner for Bobby Brown, who turned 46 on Thursday (05Feb15).

The gathering was a somber affair as the New Edition singer's daughter with his late ex-wife, Whitney Houston, continues to fight for her life in hospital.

Bobbi Kristina Brown remains in a medically-induced coma at the nearby Emory University Hospital after she was found unresponsive and face down in a bathtub at the Roswell, Georgia home she shares with partner Nick Gordon last weekend (31Jan15).

The Brown and Houston families have been keeping a bedside vigil for the 21 year old and have repeatedly asked the media to respect their privacy as they deal with the situation.

Her father briefly spoke to a reporter for U.S. news show Access Hollywood outside the hospital on Thursday, simply saying of his child's condition, "She's good. We're praying."

Brown's lawyer also released a new statement dismissing rumors suggesting relatives are gathering to say goodbye to Bobbi Kristina, while her cousin Jerod Brown took to his Facebook.com page on Thursday (05Feb15) to encourage fans to continue praying for her to pull through.

He wrote, "Though it seems the odds are against her, though doctors don't see any hope for change, though we might want to play detective and find out how she got there, though it looks impossible for her to stand again STILL PRAY FOR BK".

The sad turn of events emerges days before the third anniversary of Houston's death. The superstar drowned in a bathtub at a Beverly Hills hotel on 11 February, 2012. Her passing was drug-related.
