Bobbi Kristina Brown's friend finally opens up about tragic 22 year old's final months
Bobbi Kristina Brown's confidante has broken her silence about the 22 year old's desperate final months as the daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown clings to life in a Georgia hospice.
Alex Reid tells E! News her dying pal called her three weeks before she was found face down and unresponsive in a bathtub at the Atlanta home she shared with boyfriend Nick Gordon and appeared to be scared and upset.
In her exclusive interview, which will air on TV on Wednesday night
(01Jul15), Reid claims Bobbi Kristina was hiding from Gordon in her
late mother's closet.
She recalls, "She was sobbing. Nick had hit her and she was scared.
She was very upset. She didn't know what to do. It was as if she
didn't have anyone else to turn to. It was heartbreaking."
Reid explains she has kept her last conversation with Brown to
herself until now because she didn't want to betray her friend, but
adds, "As she lies there, I feel there is no one else to speak on
her behalf. I feel like I have to be a voice for her now."
Brown's California-based friend admits she never witnessed Gordon
abusing his girlfriend, but Bobbi Kristina would "FaceTime me every
time she was distraught, when something had just happened - or show
me a bruise."
Police are still investigating Brown's final hours and Reid
believes she can help them fill in some blanks, adding, "There are
things that I know that no one else does and I hope that by
speaking out I can help the investigation in some way."
She reveals she tried to persuade Bobbi Kristina to leave Gordon on
multiple occasions, but says, "It was a desperate love. She felt
like she couldn't do anything without him.
"She said she didn't blame Nick, she blamed his temper. It was just
that he couldn't control it. She didn't think it was his
fault."
And Reid reveals her pal felt there was no one in her family she
could turn to as she was no longer close to her dad Bobby and her
relationship with Gordon had driven other relatives away.
She adds, "All Bobbi Kristina wanted was to be taken care of, and
all everyone seemed to do was the opposite."
Reid's exclusive interview comes a week after Brown's conservator
served her boyfriend with legal papers, accusing him of abusing the
22 year old and stealing funds from her bank account while she
battled for life following her near-drowning incident in
January.
Just hours after her family revealed she had been moved into
hospice care on 24 June (15), court-appointed conservator Bedelia
C. Hargrove filed a $10 million suit against Gordon in Atlanta's
Fulton County Superior Court.
In the documents, Gordon is accused of assault, battery and
intentional infliction of emotional distress.
