Bobbi Kristina Brown not married to Nick Gordon

Bobbi Kristina Brown was never legally married to her partner Nick Gordon, according to her family's lawyer.

The only child of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown was hospitalized over the weekend (31Jan15-01Feb15) after Gordon found her unresponsive in a bathtub at the couple's home in Roswell, Georgia.

The Houston family has since released a statement saying Bobbi Kristina, 21, is "fighting for her life", and according to new reports, she has been moved from North Fulton Hospital to the Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.

While her family has not given a further update on her health, Bobby Brown's legal counsel released a statement on Tuesday night (03Feb15) to clear up confusion over Bobbi Kristina's marital status.

The statement reads: "We are currently investigating the events that led to the hospitalization of Bobbi Kristina. To correct earlier reports, Bobbi Kristina is not and has never been married to Nick Gordon."

The My Prerogative hitmaker added, "We continue to request privacy in this matter. Please allow for our family to deal with this matter and give Bobbi Kristina the love and support she needs at this time."

Brown grew close to Gordon, who was informally adopted by Houston when her daughter was 12, following the superstar's death in 2012 and they have referred to each other as "husband" and "wife" in the past.
